Vuoristorata eli Rutschebane on vanhin, suurin ja suosituin laite Tivolissa. Rata on rakennettu vuonna 1914 ja rata on katettu ja piilotettu vuoristoa muistuttavaksi maisemaksi. Radalla on kävijöitä 1,2 miljoonaa kesäkaudessa. Rata on 720 m pitkä ja max. nopeus n. 50 km/h. Tivolin vuoristorata on maailman kolmanneksi vanhin puinen vuoristorata. Paljon sekoitetaan myös virheellisesti Bakkenin ja Tivolin Vuoristoratoja keskenään. Tivolin rata on yhtä pitkä, kuin Bakkeninkin rata mutta jonkin verran matalampi; näkyy juuri ja juuri aidan yli Køpiksen juna-asemalle.
The Roller-Coaster is the oldest, biggest and most popular ride in Tivoli. It was created in 1914 and its wooden skeleton is hidden behind the 'mountain.' 1.2 million passengers take a ride on the Roller-Coaster every season. Rutschebanen er Tivolis største, ældste og mest populære forlystelse. Den blev opført 1914, og bag 'bjerget' (der efterhånden mest består af glasfibermoduler) skjuler sig et træ-skelet. Antal passagerer pr. sæson: 1,2 mio. Banens længde er ca. 700 m. Tophastigheden er ca. 50 km/t. Rutschebanen er en af verdens ældste fungerende trærutschebaner. Rejs dig ikke op under kørsel og hold arme og ben inde i vognen.

Tivolin Vuoristorata poikkeaa paljonkin Lintsin ja Bakkenin radoista. Oikeastaan yksi asia, joka yhdistää sen Lintsin ja Bakkenin ratoihin on sama suunnittelija Valdemar Lebeck (Philn ja Mortensenin lisäksi). Tivolin rataprofiili on täysin erilainen, siinä on vain puhtaasti ylä- ja alamäkiä ilman ylimääräisiä pomppuja alamäkien keskellä. Junan kulkureitti poikkeaa myöskin Lintsin ja Bakkenin radoista. Tivolin Vuoristorata on myös paljon matalampi ja sen kyljet on katettu muistuttamaan vuoristoista maisemaa. Jarrumies istuu keskellä junaa ja kiskojen/junien rakenne on hieman erilainen.
THE ROLLER-COASTER
Tivoli’s Roller-Coaster from 1914 is the world’s oldest wooden roller-coaster still in operation. It pitches and weaves on 720 meters of track at speeds up to 50 k.p.h. The Roller-Coaster runs on gravity alone after it’s pulled up to the first hilltop. A car full of passengers weights about 2,000 kg. A brakeman at the rear applies manual pressure in all curves to control the car’s speed. The ride gives you a view inside the Fun House, built into the Roller-Coaster’s “mountain,” along with the Tubs Ahoy ride and The Alley, Tivoli’s bustling midway. Maintenance is the responsibility of Tivoli’s own experts, who replace planks and track sections as needed. In winter, they paint and grease the cars, and replace the cable that pulls them up the first hill. During World War II, energy rationing made it necessary to use manpower to haul the cars up. A team of brawny men turned a big winch mounted on the Roller-Coaster’s roof. Tivoli has had a Roller-Coaster since it opened in 1843. The first “Rutschbane” was a hit with guests who loved the seven-second thrill that the ride offered. However, the press scoffed at it as a frivolous waste of political energy and an imprudent use of money.
